AGM Psych is a self-pay/private-pay practice
-
A Growth Mentality Psychological Services, Inc. is a self-pay/private-pay practice and is not contracted with insurance panels.
Payment is due directly to AGM Psych at the time of service or according to the payment schedule established for your evaluation.
Although we do not bill insurance companies or submit claims on your behalf, we can provide you with a detailed statement or superbill that you may submit directly to your insurance carrier for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan. We encourage clients to contact their insurance company before beginning services to ask about their out-of-network mental health or psychological testing benefits, including any deductible, reimbursement rate, or preauthorization requirements.
AGM Psych does not guarantee reimbursement, and clients are responsible for payment regardless of whether their insurance company reimburses any portion of the service.
For families using Step Up For Students or considering services through the public school system, private-pay services may also offer the benefit of significantly shorter wait times and faster access to evaluation and recommendations.
-
One of the primary benefits of private-pay services is the ability to access care without being limited by insurance networks or lengthy system-based timelines.
Families seeking psychological or psychoeducational evaluations through public systems may encounter extended timelines depending on eligibility, staffing, availability, and the type of evaluation requested.
At AGM Psych, evaluation appointments may be available as early as the following week.
Choosing private services also allows the evaluation and therapy process to be designed around the individual's clinical needs and referral questions rather than insurance authorization requirements.
-
Evaluation fees vary depending on the referral question, complexity of the case, records requiring review, number and type of assessment measures needed, and overall scope of the evaluation.
All testing services utilize standardized, norm-referenced, empirically supported, valid, and reliable assessment measures individually selected based on the client's needs and circumstances.
Typical Evaluation Fee Ranges
Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation (CDE)
$500–$800Commonly requested for diagnostic clarification and documentation related to treatment recommendations, including ABA medical necessity when clinically appropriate.

Psychoeducational Evaluation
$3,000–$4,500Comprehensive assessment that may examine cognitive abilities, academic achievement, attention, executive functioning, learning, behavioral functioning, and social-emotional functioning.
Comprehensive Psychological Evaluation
$3,500–$4,500Designed for broader diagnostic clarification and may assess emotional, behavioral, developmental, cognitive, attentional, and adaptive functioning depending on the presenting concerns.
Immigration Evaluation for Citizenship Examination Waiver — Form N-648
$1,200–$1,700Clinical evaluation and supporting documentation for individuals seeking consideration for a medical disability exception to the English and civics testing requirements when clinically appropriate.

-
No two evaluations are exactly alike.
The type and amount of testing required depend on the reason for referral.
For example, an evaluation focused on one specific diagnostic concern may require a different assessment battery than an evaluation examining learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional functioning, executive functioning, giftedness, developmental concerns, or multiple areas simultaneously.
Rather than administering the same battery to every client, AGM Psych selects assessment measures based on the individual's needs and the questions the evaluation is intended to answer.
Your specific fee will be reviewed with you before testing begins.
-
Depending on the type of evaluation, services may include:
Clinical and developmental interview
Review of medical, educational, and psychological records
Standardized psychological testing
Cognitive assessment
Academic achievement testing
Behavioral and emotional measures
Attention and executive-function measures
Adaptive functioning assessment
Parent, caregiver, and/or teacher questionnaires
Diagnostic-specific measures when clinically indicated
Scoring and interpretation of assessment results
Diagnostic formulation
Individualized treatment and educational recommendations
Comprehensive written report
Feedback session to review findings and recommendations
Not every evaluation requires every component listed above. Your assessment battery will be selected according to your specific referral needs.
-
Availability varies, but AGM Psych may have appointments available as early as the following week.
Early contact is encouraged because some evaluations require questionnaires, school records, medical documentation, or collateral information before the assessment can be completed.
-
Turnaround time varies depending on the evaluation and how quickly all required questionnaires, records, and supporting documentation are received.
CDEs:
Reports may generally be completed within approximately one week following the evaluation once all necessary information has been received.Psychoeducational Evaluations:
Comprehensive evaluations are generally completed within approximately one month, depending on the testing required and receipt of school, parent, and teacher information.AGM Psych prioritizes timely evaluations while maintaining the clinical quality and thoroughness necessary for meaningful recommendations.
-
A private psychoeducational evaluation may provide valuable information regarding a child's cognitive, academic, behavioral, attentional, executive-functioning, and social-emotional profile.
Reports may include recommendations that families can share with the school when discussing:
IEP services • Section 504 accommodations • Academic interventions • Behavioral supports • Learning needs
Eligibility for school-based services is ultimately determined by the child's school team according to applicable educational requirements.
-
Families may choose to pursue an evaluation through their child's school system or pursue a private evaluation.
Publicly funded evaluations may involve eligibility procedures and timelines determined by the school or applicable agency.
Some families elect private assessment because they would like to obtain diagnostic clarification and recommendations sooner rather than waiting for another system's evaluation process.
AGM Psych may have appointments available as early as the following week, depending on current scheduling availability.
-
AGM Psych is not currently listed in the Step Up For Students Provider Marketplace. Families are therefore responsible for paying AGM Psych directly for services.
Upon request, we can provide a detailed itemized statement documenting the services received and fees paid. Families may then submit that documentation directly to Step Up For Students for reimbursement consideration, depending on their scholarship type, available funds, and current program requirements.
Because reimbursement is determined by Step Up For Students, AGM Psych cannot guarantee that services will be reimbursed. We strongly recommend that families contact Step Up directly before scheduling to confirm whether the requested service may qualify for reimbursement and what documentation will be required.
-
All testing services utilize norm-referenced, empirically supported, valid, and reliable psychological assessment measures.
There is no single testing battery used for every client.
Measures are selected based upon:
Age • Developmental history • Referral question • Presenting concerns • Educational history • Clinical needs
Our goal is not simply to administer tests—it is to integrate assessment results, history, records, observations, and collateral information into a meaningful understanding of the individual.
-
Psychological testing is primarily conducted in person at our Doral location.
Certain interviews, consultations, feedback sessions, and other portions of the evaluation process may be completed virtually when clinically appropriate.
Some assessment services are also available in Spanish.
